This Wednesday, 12th June saw the wind gust up to 41knots and the speed enthusiasts hit the water, revelling in their element. A less common sight in these storm-force conditions are a load of school pupils braving the conditions for what was for many their FIRST EVER windsurfing lesson! Hats off to the students we had down from Budmouth College, Dorchester Middle School and Thomas Hardyes, who battled hard and all came out smiling. Just goes to show how good a place Portland Harbour is for teaching when beginners can handle these wind strengths, learn something and have a real sense of achievement at the end. 3-7knots, the recommended wind strength for a Start Windsurfing course, is going to feel mundane now! Thanks to Andy Stallman for the images.
