Well, we might have only been able to run one day of round 2 but what a perfect day it was. Coming onto neap tides; steady wind direction (not strength!) and a great turn out meant that by 3pm most people were tired out and only too willing to come in for the video de-brief! Breaking up into 3 different groups, Ross and Kev took the more experience riders for some close-proximity gybing practice, whilst Tris took his team to focus on the gybe individually. Centre Manager, Maurin was then on hand to put the young guns through their paces and they flew around the harbour fully powered on 3.6m sails! Great event and shows just what is possible with a bit of team effort.
Which brings us neatly on to a few acknowledgements. Thanks to Al Cross from NWF for helping to organise and promote the event. To Ross Williams and Kev Greenslade for their instructional input and Pete Davis and Andy Stallman for the video and photos that captured the day so well. But most of all, thanks to those that came along and took part – it was a lot of fun and a great spectacle on the water. Next event is 17th/18th January. Come along and get involved. You don’t need to have done ANY slalom before – it is all about getting on the water and having fun.
